2010 CORE Conference and TD Case Competition

In its sixth year running, CORE will expose students to the perspectives and practices of CSR in the business community. It will give students the opportunity to meet with representatives from companies actively involved in CSR, as speakers discuss crucial issues that companies are facing, and the key aspects of working in the CSR field. With distinguished keynote speakers, various workshops, and plenty of networking opportunities, the CORE Conference provides a mutually beneficial and educational event for all its delegates, presenters, and sponsors.

This year’s CORE Conference will be a two-day event, taking place on January 7 and 8, 2010. With the theme of 'Discover the NEXT Level,' this year's CORE plans on taking CSR to new heights, with the very many unique, insightful and surprising methods that companies have managed to use CSR in the recent turbulent economy.

CSRS hopes to educate the student body on the evolution of CSR in the corporate environment. The 2009 conference was the most successful yet. The cocktail party was held in the Executive Dining Hall at the Schulich School of Business for a night of networking with drinks and hors d’oeuvres. The second half of the conference was held at Schulich for a full day of networking, keynote speakers, workshops, the E&Y Video Competition, and of course, the Loblaw Companies Ltd. Case Competition.

The 2010 CORE Conference and TD Case Competition is planned to have over 300 attendees, excluding corporate representatives. Attendees will include undergraduate and MBA business students, CSR leaders, faculty, and corporate representatives. Being a society of change and partnerships, this year’s conference is going to be national, inviting students, delegates and corporate representatives from all over Canada.

Corporate Attendees include: TD Bank Financial Group, Dofasco, G&K Services, TELUS, CMA, Ernst & Young, Mackenzie Financial, CGA, KPMG, Talisman Energy, Enwave, ICAO, Suncor, Great-West Life and many more!
